Offering Scholarship to African-American Students
BALTIMORE
In an effort to encourage students from a group traditionally
underrepresented in Optometry to pursue degrees in the profession,
the Maryland Optometric Association (MOA) Education Foundation has
announced that it is offering a $1,000 scholarship for African-American
Optometry students. Additionally, this scholarship will be matched
by the recipient's school bringing the total aid to $2,000.
The
award also includes complimentary First Year Membership in the American
Optometric Association. The only condition placed on recipients
is that they return to work in Maryland for two years after graduation.

more information, please contact MOA Executive Director Thomas C.
Shaner at 800-492-3025 or tom@assnhqtrs.com.
