MOA Lobbying Firm Honored with the Eugene McCrary Award

BALTIMORE The Maryland Optometric Association's (MOA) lobbying firm of Rifkin, Livingston, Levitan and Silver was awarded the Eugene McCrary Award by the association at their 2006 Awards lunch on November 12 held at the exclusive Hyatt Regency Baltimore in downtown Baltimore. The awards lunch is part of the MOA's annual Convention and Education Forum.

The award, which is given to a non-optometrist, was presented to the lobbying firm for their significant contributions to the enhancement of eye care for the citizens of Maryland. Most particularly they were recognized for their hard work in advancing legislation that supports the medical use of steroids.

The convention was a successful weekend that treated participants to educational courses, networking opportunities with fellow professionals, and prestigious guest speakers that discussed the latest updates on various topics in the Optometric profession.

The MOA is a non-profit professional association dedicated to providing its members with the resources necessary to deliver the highest standard of professional eye care to the citizens of Maryland. It is the leader in providing continuing education for doctors of optometry and the "Voice of Optometry" before the Maryland General Assembly and the Board of Optometric Examiners.
